border.gif (3K) DOGGIE PUBS
Find out where you and your best friend are welcome.

By their recommendations, like-minded people help to make DoggiePubs a useful, non-commercial guide to happy eating out with your dog.

Pubs get included by recommendation - they can't pay to be listed. Eager publicans earn their listings by being dog-friendly, that's all. Our reward is knowing how much this site is liked, and discovering more places where Millie will be welcome.

DUMFRIES The Coach and Horses
star rating
I went there recently with my little Border Collie. We received a warm welcome in the bar, where you can have coffee & nibbles or choose from the main menu and eat with your dog beside you. Very welcoming and no carpet on the floor so no need to worry about muddy paws and feet. Great cosy place to relax.

KIPPFORD The Anchor Inn

Lovely pub right on the front of the estuary. Water bowl for dogs. Can sit out front for food (no enclosed garden and right on the road, so definitely "leads on"). Inside one part of the Pub ok for dogs. Food is really good pub grub and Fish n Chips excellent! Roaring fire in October - good atmosphere.

MOFFAT The Buccleuch Arms
star ratingstar ratingstar rating
A smallish hotel with a very friendly lounge bar which allows dogs and provides water and treats. Lots of locals frequent this establishment with their dogs. There are three areas in which to eat, however, patrons with four legged friends are asked to eat in the lounge bar only. The quality of food is excellent and could easily compete with meals served in good restaurants in Glasgow and Edinburgh, at a fraction of the cost. The surroundings are a little shabby, but if you look past the decor, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
