CHESTER Bear & Billet

Originally the town house of the Earls of Shrewsbury, has served as an inn since the 18th century. Later John Lennon's grandmother, Annie Jane Millward, was born in the Bear and Billet in 1873. This is an excellent pub for dog walkers and there is a large beer garden with a play area for kids - there is also a bouncy castle at weekends! Dogs are allowed inside the pub on the non carpeted areas. They hold fun dog shows every month in the summer which are great fun, and also have a bike shack for you to rent bikes if you wish to ride along the banks of the River Mersey and around Sale Water Park.
